/ Brook's path-- Ely Spivack pictures 1999/2000
The truth: totally onshore, a surging tide, and lots of current, a few
of us caught some protracted rinsings. And the walk back upstream was
evil after the deluge had done it's thing. Brook here picks a path uphill,
and hopefully beyond several layers of whitewater to the outside, with
a marginally powered 5.7.
After a couple of successful rides and a sequence of beatings culminating
in a trip downcurrent towards Cedar, I eventually bagged it and went to
Heckscher for a way more relaxing and far less strenuous
4.5-5.0 bump and jump session! But Gilgo, this day, was it's own reward
for those who stayed.
